I'm not surprised!

Many of the books and manuals about starting a business on the 'Net are long, long, LONG! By the time you've finished the third chapter, it's hard to remember all the points in the first.

You are told conflicting stories about affiliate programs. First you hear that no one makes any money with them, then you hear about folks who earn 6 and 7 figure incomes marketing nothing other than affiliate program products.

Hello Affiliate,

I see WAY too many newbies who are in such a rush to do business online, that they try to do everything and therefore never learn how to do anything well.

If you're going this route or feel confused by all the different ways you can earn online...

Just Slow down!

I've been in this business since 1998, and nothing happened over night.

My first website was a not-for-profit flower seed exchange. Experience with that site made me realize the web's potential as a marketplace - so I started looking for online bizops at that point.
I found out about affiliate marketing and started Sage-Hearts.com a site for singles - a topic to which I could relate.
That site became so successful that I wrote the "Super Affiliate Handbook" to tell people how I did it, which then qualifed me as an infoproduct merchant.
The book's success in teaching others resulted in speaking opportunities, a magazine column and a book contract with McGraw Hill.
It also opened doors to joint venture with other experts in the field to create more infoproducts and teleseminars.
I dabbled in online auction selling and have had a drop-shipping arrangement with Eduardo Milieris' for years to sell his beautiful watches at WindingWay.com.

As I worked each venture to profitability, new opportunities presented themselves.

Amazing how that works...

You TOO can build a diversified and successful online business --- but you have to CHOOSE just ONE channel and concentrate on that one first.

So, start with affiliate marketing or create your own infoproduct and WORK it to success.

Once your first site is successful, then you can try something else.

Not only that, but you'll have the knowledge and experience to get the second and subsequent sites launched and profitable faster.

Greetings Affiliate!

I barely tweet at all, but after realizing just how many more visitors were coming to my site from Twitter, I became a real twit one day last week.

Posted 30 tweets in one day.

That was good for some fun, but I'll stick with my lazy approach to attracting visitors with Twitter. Works like a charm.

Just in case you want to Twitter more, check out this list of Twitter software apps & services.

BTW, I'm checking out the fossil beds in southern Washington state at the moment and have my computer with me, so stay on the look out for tweets from me! :-)

Too, be sure to check the post about the oldest person on Facebook who is probably right now avidly reading Alexander's latest post 'Nailing the Facebook News Feed'.

[NPT] Sifting through the hype...

I am asked one or more of the following questions almost everyday:

"Isn't it TOO LATE to start an Internet Business?"
"Can ANYONE really start an Internet business?"
"C'mon, aren't all those earnings claims just hype and lies?"

Those are great questions and I'm so glad when I hear them asked! It proves that people are aware that opportunities are over-hyped and that there are scams.

What you may not know is that those 'scam opportunities' are promoted by people who have never made a dime online... other than to sell their bogus 'opportunities'.

To help you avoid being scammed, I answer each of the questions above for you in 3 separate articles.
